NAMBA’s August Meeting Will be Sunday the 28th at 6:00 PM in the Board Room at the TAWC office in Warren. One of the issues on the agenda will be the possibility of becoming an IMBA chapter. Your input is needed for this decision. Please try to attend or email me for more details and to make your opinion known.
We are overdue for a meeting. Thom has graciously offered to host our next get together. Sunday July 17th is the date. We will meet at Harris Hill for a group ride at 2:oo Then head to Thom’s house for a cook out and meeting at 5:00. Thom is providing the “protein and drinks” if you would like to bring a dish to pass that is fine, but not necessary. Also bring your swim suits as the pool and hot tub will be available.
Jake says “Rachel, Thom, and I want to put together an “Overland Epic” ride to prepare us for the 50 Miles of Death, and to get together with other NAMBA folks for a day long adventure. We’re thinking about next Saturday the 18th or Sunday the 19th. The total mileage is roughly 40-43 miles. Rachel and I rode it last weekend, and we had an absolute blast.” RSVP to Jake at jacob.bodway@gmail.com
CANCELED.
Due to the possible issues with the pavillion construction, as well as the Route 27 Detour during the Craft Faire, it has been decided to put the run on hiatus for a year. This is a bit disappointing for us, since we came out of the gates hard in our first year, setting a standard for what we still hope will become a fun tradition. However, just like riding some gnarly singletrack, SAFETY is always a factor.
A potential of increased entries with increased traffic = increased concern.
I hope this doesn’t put anyone off. Watch for things to be bigger and better for 2012.
God Bless,
Keith
